Why I do this
I'm Felicia — mom of five, educator for 22 years, and a firm believer that every child can learn to read with the right help at the right time.
My background
I've been a teacher, curriculum specialist, and principal. At Caledonia Elementary in East Cleveland, strong reading instruction took our students' passage rates from 7% to 40% — and the school earned national Blue Ribbon recognition. I started Literacy Lifted to bring that same kind of help directly to families.
Fun facts
- Mom of five daughters (plus TK, our terrier mix)
Degrees from the University of Toledo, Ashland University, and North Central University, including research on how kids learn to read
Toledo native, now based in Willoughby
When I'm not teaching: family time, reading, and binge-watching good shows
